MEC Motlhabane to lead a day seminar on Integrated Transport Plans with Municipalities

Adoption and implementation of Integrated Transport Plans (ITP’s), remains a challenge to most of Municipalities across the Province, leading to restraining developments on public transport infrastructure.

With an objective to influence and encourage council decisions on the implementation of ITP’s, the Department of Community Safety and Transport Management MEC, Dr Mpho Motlhabane will lead a day seminar with Municipalities from across the Province.

During the seminar, the Department will present the progress registered in the development of the plans to pave the way for adoption by municipal councils.
“This will assist municipalities to improve their public transport infrastructure and prevent the mushrooming of illegal and informal taxi ranks across our Province,” says MEC Motlhabane.
